There is a comprehensive range of "Things to Do" on and around Chark including ...
|
Horse Riding If you would like to bring your own horse, please follow this link to the Horse Owners page. If you would like to ride but don't have your own mount, the nearby Barguse Riding Centre provides excellent hacking and tuition for riders who do not have their own horse. All levels are catered for (both adults and children). Pre-booking is advised as it is very popular. |

Golf We are close to good local golf courses - there are two within 2 miles of Chark. |

Cycling This is a good area for cycling. If you don't feel up to some of the local gradients, Chark is only a short distance from the Camel Trail that follows the Camel river from Bodmin to Padstow and is virtually flat throughout. Bicycle hire is available on the Camel Trail, or we can provide secure storage for your own bicycles at Chark. We do have a limited number of bicycles to lend out. Some of our guests have cycled to the Eden Project. This is about 30-60 minutes undulating ride each way but maybe the reduced entry fee is worth it! |
|||
Walking There are some lovely walks in the area around Chark ranging from gentle level strolls to more challenging walks on Bodmin moor. We do provide simple guides to the more popular walks. |

Pets
Corner
Our
younger (or younger-at-heart) guests love to make a fuss of the animals
in the paddock. During the summer, lamb or calf feeding takes place
daily. We usually have pigs who are ALWAYS ready to eat.
The
ducks on the pond are always ready for a crust of bread and our friendly
hens provide eggs for breakfast.
Bert
and Ernie, our very friendly goats, continue to rule the roost.
Our
latest arrival is Billy, our cuddly miniature horse who will be delighted
to accompany you on a walk around Chark |
